ALA Award Winners 2018: Carnegie, Notables, & The Reading List

The American Library Association's midwinter meeting took place in Denver this past weekend. This is the meeting where all the committee readers get together and make their final lists and decisions. It's a bit like being on jury duty. The readers are sequestered in a room for two days and they cannot talk to anyone outside the room about their deliberations or verdicts. The award ceremony took place Sunday night and now we can celebrate these wonderful books out in the open.  Looking for something good to read? Here are the 2017 books librarians from across the country recommend.
