Books For All: Kids Book Club: Front Desk

This program will be in person at the Allerton Library.  For this month's book club, we will be discussing the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang, the story of fifth-grader Mia Tang,  in which readers experience the courage, hard work, and dreams of a young Chinese immigrant. We'll spend some time discussing why the book was challenged, and NYPL's Books for All campaign that promotes the freedom to read and to "elevate and amplify the stories, voices, and titles that censorship attempts to repress." Recommended for ages 9-12. Snacks will be provided following the program.
