Volunteer Opportunities

SHELVING VOLUNTEERS - Tremont Library

Are you super organized? Do you love books? Would you like to help make sure others can find the library materials they need by assisting our staff at the Tremont Library with shelving? Volunteers are needed 3 to 4 hours per week. Please send an email to volunteer@nypl.org and let us know why you would like to volunteer at our Tremont Library.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS - various  Manhattan locations

Do you enjoy author talks? Musical performances? The excitement of live events? Perhaps you would like to join our team of event volunteers. Most events take place evenings or weekends and volunteers are asked to assist with at least one event each month. They are often at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in midtown Manhattan or the The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at Lincoln Center. The time commitment is about 3 hours per month. If interested, please send a note as to why you would like to help and what your availability is to volunteer@nypl.org. Please note, since alcohol may be served at some events you must be over age 21 to be an event volunteer.

Please do not contact us to ask about opportunities. If we have openings we will list them here.
