Books for All

The New York Public Library stands by the right to read freely. In response to recent efforts to ban certain books in some communities across the United States, the Library is making a selection of commonly banned books available to everyone—for free.

NYPL Announcement: No More Late Fines, Ever

The New York Public Library is proud to announce a major policy shift: on October 5, 2021, all late fines were eliminated going forward—and all existing fines and fees in patron accounts have been cleared. Learn more about this policy change and how everyone is getting a clean slate this fall.
