NYPL After School is a free drop-in program for kids ages 6–12 that takes place after regular school hours on Mondays through Thursdays. Join our tutors and Teen Reading Ambassadors for homework help, reading recommendations, fun writing, STEAM, and enrichment activities—and even snacks! No need to register—just show up! Everything is free.

Join us to watch and discuss some of your favorite anime series with other anime fans! We will also be highlighting some of the corresponding manga in our collection. A limited number of snacks will be provided. Anime @ Allerton will take place every other Friday at 4pm. May Dates: 5/10 & 5/24

This program will be in person at the Allerton Library. For this month's book club, we will be discussing the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang, the story of fifth-grader Mia Tang, in which readers experience the courage, hard work, and dreams of a young Chinese immigrant. We'll spend some time discussing why the book was challenged, and NYPL's Books for All campaign that promotes the freedom to read and to "elevate and amplify the stories, voices, and titles that censorship attempts to repress."…

Teens are invited to learn to use various techonology devices such as Ipads, MacBooks and Laptops, that we have available. They can also bring their own devices to use during the program. Snacks will be provided. .

This event will take place in person at Allerton Library. Join us for songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books in this storytime that’s fun for the whole family. For young children of all ages. Ideal for caregivers with multiple-aged children. Storytime helps strengthen early literacy skills, socialization, and bonding between adults and their children. This program caters towards kids ages 2-5. Stay and play after!

This course will cover how important it is to be safe when providing your information on the internet as well as ensuring your computer is safe from those that want to hack it.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all 4 sessions on May 29, June 5, June 12 and June 25.

During this 8-week series of workshops, children embark on an around-the-world story hunt. Each week they'll hear native stories from different cultures told through characters and props.
