Event Details

Join us in person at the Riverdale Library's outdoor patio to participate in the Spring Houseplant Exchange during Bronx Week. This event allows the North Bronx community's residents and staff to gather and exchange healthy, pest-free plants. Bring a plant you no longer want or have room for and leave with a new one to add to your home collection. You can also discover new plant species and meet like-minded individuals who share your interests. This program is for adult patrons. All programs are subject to change or cancellation. In the event of inclement weather, a new date will be announced.

Exchanging Rules:

  • Bring at least one healthy, pest-free plant or cutting and leave with one. If you bring two, leave with two.
  • Cuttings should be placed in damp paper towels inside a plastic baggie.
  • Swappers should be prepared to part with the pot if the plant is potted.
  • Plants and cuttings should be labeled and brief care instructions should be provided on an index card. Supplies will be provided.
  • There will be a raffle prize for attendees.
  • We accept donations of plants for those who are not interested in exchanging!

Register online or by calling the branch at 718-549-1212.
