Reading keeps us connected. Join us for a neighborhood book club book discussion Online & at the Mulberry Street Library!

The New York Public Library continues partnering with WNYC to present a book club experience! Each month, we will read a new title leading up to a live conversation, in-person or online, with the author and All of It producers Jordan Lauf and Simon Close who will be our special guest hosts.

This conversation will be followed two days later by a book discussion ONLINE & IN-PERSON AT THE MULBERRY STREET LIBRARY, on May 30 at 6pm EDT. The author will not attend this book discussion.

Memory Piece by Lisa Ko

The May title is Lisa Ko's Memory Piece - an innovative and audacious story of three lifelong friends as they strive to build satisfying lives in a world that turns out to be radically different from the one they were promised.

In the early 1980s, three teenagers drawn together by their shared sense of alienation and desire for something different. They envision each other as artistic collaborators and embark on a future defined by freedom and creativity. By the time they are adults, their dreams are murkier. Over time their friendship matures and changes, their definitions of success become complicated, and their sense of what matters evolves.

Throughout the month, All of It host Alison Stewart and the Library will accompany readers, providing touchpoints on-air and on social media at @allofitwnyc and @nypl. Borrow the book (and more than 300,000 others) for free through the Library’s e-reader app SimplyE, available for iOS and Android devices.

Don't forget to register to join guest hosts Jordan Lauf and Simon Close along with the author and readers everywhere for a live conversation, in-person or online, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6 - 7 PM.

Then, two days later on May 30, 2024, from 6-7pm EDT, join our neighborhood book club book discussion.
